Jamie Gilmore – Photographer www.studiodc3.com.au

Jamie is an acclaimed and award-winning photographer. In 2016 he and Andrew instigated our Archive Project “Lost to the Deep”. Our project aims to document/record the life and times of many of the ships and planes that were lost in the Pacific during WW11. Jamie’s behind-the-scenes photographic knowledge and expertise have bought Andrews underwater photographs to life. I have meticulously researched the story and demise of each ship and plane, and you can find the articles on my wed site.

Jamie is Andrew’s photographic mentor, my web designer and true and loyal friend.

 This is his story.

Since the age of eight when he first saw his father developing images in an old concrete tub in a makeshift darkroom in the family laundry, the love pf photography and the ability to create was deeply ingrained in Jamie’s psyche. Studying photography at both High School and University and undertaking numerous photography work placements, Jamie was certain that a career in photography would be a lifelong pursuit. Things didn’t quite turn out that way, and a career in the corporate business world beckoned, putting his photography work on the back burner for almost a decade. Things changed rapidly in 2001when Jamie started a dynamic new advertising agency in Newcastle and began working on local and national ad campaigns for a range of well-known brands including Lexus, L’Occitane, KitchenAid, Tyrell’s Wines, Mahindra Automotive, The Greater Bank, nib, and Lions Australia as well as many iconic Newcastle businesses. In the past 20 years, Jamie’s work has been seen in a diverse range of publications including Vogue, GQ, Elle, Gourmet Traveller, Qantas Mag, Stellar, Delicious, Frankie Mag, Smith journal, Delicious, Donna Hay, MindFood, & Country Style. His passion for travel and love of landscape photography has led to a vast portfolio of work that includes landscapes from Paris, London, Berlin, Venice, New York, California, and much of Australia’s most iconic locations. Over the last decade, Jamie has won numerous professional state and national photographic awards for his landscapes, fashion and portraiture work and continues to strive to create new work that inspires others.

I will keep you up to date with these amazing people and hope you will follow and support their business’ as I do.
